What My Book Clubs Are Reading: April 2026

Happy Spring! I’m one of those people who’s attitude and motivation is negatively impacted by Winter, and I cannot express how grateful I am for the warmer weather. I’m on pace to hit my reading goal for 2026 – I wanted to read 50 books in a year (I’m currently at 19.) However, I am always looking for reading inspiration. One of the easiest ways for me to get book recommendations is from different book clubs. *Disclaimer: sometimes, I finish those books during the month they were announced as book club picks; other times, I add them to my TBR list. The two national book clubs I follow are Reese Witherspoon’s book club and Jenna Bush Hager’s book club. Additionally, I’m in a personal book club where I’m guaranteed to finish that book. Here are the three reads I’m hoping to add to my read list on Goodreads *eventually.*

The Book Club Picks:

Into the Blue: A Love Story Book Cover

Into the Blue by Emma Brodie

Upward Bound: A Novel Book Cover

Upward Bound by Woody Brown

I am pretty satisfied with all three book club picks. The reviews looked pretty good, and I love a good fiction read. Fortunately, this spring, I have some more downtime that I’m hoping to use to read a few more books.

I’m also hoping to use this time to craft more book reviews – something I wish I had started doing earlier! Sure, I will read a book, but looking back, I can’t remember what I liked about it, what I didn’t like, who were my favorite characters – the list goes on. Definitely adding “write book review summaries after every read” is something I am working on.

Like I mentioned, I’m trying to read 50 books. Yay! (You can see my running list here.) Send any reading recommendations my way – like what your book clubs picked to read this month.

Happy Reading!
Lydia
