March 2022 Ipsy: Hit or Miss?

Hey there! Confession: I still am subscribed to Ipsy, and I get a Glam Bag each month with five products. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert with makeup, but I also wouldn’t call myself a beginner. Right now, Ipsy is still at a decent price point where I can afford to try out different products (I’m big into receiving skincare as opposed to makeup.) But the question is: are the products hit or miss?

The products

Balance Me – Pre and probiotic radiance cream

Miss – I know I said I loved skincare instead of overloading on beauty products, but this moisturizer was not it for me. I am a diehard Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel moisturizer fan, and this Balance Me Radiance Cream just didn’t do it for me. It is supposed to help with inflammation and improve skin tone, but I didn’t notice any differences. Maybe I needed more of the radiance cream to test it out? This product was used because this winter weather is drying my skin out, but I would not buy this product.

first aid beauty – hydrating eye cream with hyaluronic acid

Hit- I chose this product to be sent to me, and it did not disappoint. I love using products with hyaluronic acid, and this did the trick. The product wasn’t super greasy, and a little bit goes a long way. Granted, I just started using the eye cream, so it is too early to tell if it is making a difference for my skin, but so far, so good. I’m also loving First Aid Beauty, so that’s an added plus that this product lived up to the brand’s reputation.

sand and sky – Australian emu apple super bounce mask

Hit- This product was decently sized where I was able to get more than one use out of it. The product didn’t smell funky, and I had no weird skin reactions. Did the mask make a positive, noticeable difference in my skin? No. But I enjoy the act of applying and using a face mask, so this was good enough for me. Would I buy one? Maybe.

love+craft+beauty – Glare gloss in cyber

Miss- I’m not a big lip gloss user, and I think I already had a negative impression of the product before testing it out. The product is decently sized, but the gloss has that sticky texture I’m not a fan of. This would be alright for those who regularly use lip gloss, but I wouldn’t purchase it.

f.a.r.a.h – eyeshadow duo in forget me not & nectar

Half Miss/Half Hit- I wish Ipsy had more matte eyeshadow products as they tend to be super shimmery. I see myself regularly using the neutral bronze shimmer shade, but I can’t see myself using the peach-pink color. There was a decent amount of fallout with this product, but to me, eyeshadow is eyeshadow.

IPSY FINAL SCORE

My Ipsy March 2022 Glam Bag final review? “Eh.” Hit products scored 2.5, and the Miss products scored 2.5. I will most likely use everything up besides the lip gloss, but you never know. I’m in favor of getting mail each month, but none of these products really excited me.
