Hi there!
My name is Lydia, and I am on a mission to make the most out of life.
Why?
Because we only get one life to live. This past year has been a challenging one. I am an extrovert who thrives in environments full of people communicating, expressing their thoughts and ideas, and interacting with each other. As many have guessed, we aren’t doing much of that lately. While Zoom has been filling that void, it just isn’t the same. On the plus side, while participating in voluntary self-quarantine, I’ve had a lot of time to think and slow down.
Personally, I’ve been struggling with the idea that I’ve wasted an entire year of my early-20s. I tried baking bread, got crafty with scrapbooking, and binge-watched some new shows. (My personal record? All three seasons of Veronica Mars in five consecutive days.) While I was productive, I did some reflecting on things that mattered most to me.This year has helped me realize that even though we may not return to normal for a couple of years, as soon as the pandemic is over, I want to go back to living.
As a freshman, I created a college bucket list. Super nerdy, I know. While spring cleaning for the fourth time this past summer, I recently found it. I’m hoping to share what I did, and didn’t do during my time in college. Winning a scholarship was on that list. Going Greek was on that list. Even attending one of my professor’s office hours was on that list. (I promise attending office hours is the only cheesy cliche on the list.)
And who knows, maybe there is still time to cross off an item or two, even in this virtual world.
Get ready for some throwback stories. Because ready or not, here they come.
Cheers!
Lydia
