My college’s Greek Life is small, meaning we have six different sororities and our formal recruitment process takes three days. That’s not including the best day, Bid Day! I know trying to figure out what to wear during sorority recruitment, especially if your school doesn’t offer a “look-book” or offer any outfit suggestions, is stressful. So I’ve listed out what I wore for my university’s sorority recruitment to help with your inspiration.
Sisterhood: I wore white capris, a denim top, and gold gladiator sandals. I felt this was a good starting point because it was dressier than jeans and less formal than a dress or a skirt.
Philanthropy: I took it up a notch and wore a BCX navy dress and the same gold gladiator sandals from Sisterhood Round.
Preference: The last, and final round, I wore a black spaghetti strap dress and red heels. I brought flip flops to wear when we were walking to and from the different houses.
General reminders:
Sorority recruitment normally takes place during the end of August and the beginning of September — it will be hot! Check the weather ahead of time and the day of.
I wanted to dress nicer each round, but it is also important to be comfortable. It is easier to be yourself and have a good time when you are wearing something you love and that you know fits well.
Check your school’s recruitment information to see how many rounds you will have, how many days of recruitment there are, and layout your outfits ahead of time. This ensures none of your outfits are wrinkly or ill-fitting.
Happy recruitment!
