Spring Cleaning with Passion Planner

My Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring is the perfect time to refresh your living space and declutter your life. If you’re like me, you might have just moved out of your parents’ house or college dorm and may find yourself surrounded by clutter and unnecessary items. Here are my top six tips and tricks to help you get organized and ensure your space (and mindset) is ready for the new season!

MY TIPS

1. Start with a plan
Before you start decluttering, create a plan. Decide which areas need the most attention and set goals for yourself. For example, you might aim to declutter your closet, organize your computer desktop, or sort through your makeup and skincare products. Personally, I like to write it all down or use a checklist app to feel the satisfaction of crossing things off as I go.

2. Declutter by category
To make decluttering easier, try sorting your items by category. I like to start by gathering all of my clothes in one place. Then, I sort them into four piles: keep, donate, sell, or throw away. This method helps you stay focused and not get overwhelmed by jumping from room to room.

3. Get rid of duplicates
Do you really need two of the same item? (Looking at you, six nearly-empty hand sanitizers) If not, consider getting rid of duplicates to free up space in your living space. It’s amazing how much room you’ll reclaim just by letting go of extras you don’t actually use.

4. Sell or donate items
If you have items like clothes you no longer need, consider selling or donating them. You can use apps like Poshmark or ThredUP to sell clothes or home items or donate them to Goodwill or a local charity. Bonus: you’ll feel good knowing your things are getting a second life and helping someone else. Curious about how I use Poshmark? 5. Use storage solutions
Once you’ve decluttered, it’s important to have a plan for organizing the items you’ve decided to keep. Use storage solutions like bins, shelves, or baskets to keep everything in its place. I swear by under-bed storage containers and drawer organizers—they make small-space living way more manageable.

6. Use a spring cleaning guide for extra motivation
If you want a little extra structure or inspiration, I highly recommend this Spring Cleaning Guide from Passion Planner. It includes checklists, reflection prompts, and even space to track your progress. It’s perfect if you’re the type who loves a pretty PDF and a motivational quote (guilty!).

Reminder, the downloads are 100% free for you to download and use. However, if you feel inclined to make a purchase, I’d love for you to use my referral code. For 10% off your own Passion Planner, use my code, LYDIA444.

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By following these tips, you can refresh your living space and declutter your life—without losing your mind. Whether you’re in a tiny apartment or your childhood bedroom, a little organization can go a long way in helping you feel more grounded and focused. So light your favorite candle, put on a good playlist, and get to it.

You’ve got this—happy cleaning!
